If Fear Is Universal, How Come Others Seem Fearless?

Why does it seem like other people aren’t afraid of anything? Fear of the unknown is a natural human emotion that everyone feels it at some point in their life journey. When we think about our fears, we might feel alone in them. And when we see other people doing what we want, it can feel like they don’t have the same limiting mindsets that we hold on to or are entirely confident. The truth is that everyone experiences fear, even the people who seem fearless to us.  The only difference is that they have consciously or unconsciously mastered the art of managing their limitations

So, if you’re feeling afraid, know that you’re not alone, and there are ways to overcome your entrepreneurial fear so it doesn’t stop you from achieving your entrepreneurial dreams.

What is the difference between people who seem fearless and those who are fearful? Simple, the fearless ones have learned how to deal with their fear. They’ve found ways to work through their fear or confront it instead of letting it stop them from doing what they want.

One of the most empowering mindsets you can adopt is lifelong learning. Do not pressure yourself to be perfect. Get started on a project and perfect it along the way. You will never be perfect, but you can continuously improve and become a better version of yourself.

The Difference Is the Reaction to Fear: Be Fearful and Still Go Ahead and Do It.

Being afraid is inevitable when venturing into unfamiliar territory. Still, what you do in the face of entrepreneurial dread will determine your success. Feel the trepidation but go ahead and do it. The best thing you can do when gaining the confidence to share your content on the world wide web is to start small. Simply begin by sharing your story (even if it’s just with one other person) and sharing your entrepreneurial journey, your day, and the behind-the-scenes content.

Step # 2-Stop Comparing Yourself with Others. Entrepreneurship is a journey.

The constant comparison game is a perilous one and can get you nowhere. It’s important to remember that everyone has their journey.

Entrepreneurship is a journey, and there’s no perfect time or age to start. Being an entrepreneurial parent doesn’t mean you have to run a huge business and have millions of dollars in revenue. Being an entrepreneurial parent means creating a source of income online while also taking care of your family.

If you are a business-minded parent trying to create a source of income online, don’t compare yourself to other online entrepreneurs who face different challenges from you. Everyone’s journey is different. Be your own person, follow your path, and don’t let anyone else’s success or failure dictate your unique journey.

If you’re starting, don’t feel you must immediately have a significant, elaborate online presence.

Step # 3-Research

Before you jump on the internet and start creating content, you must know your customers and their problems. As an entrepreneurial parent, you must know your dream customer better than they know themselves.  How is this even possible? Engaged research.

Research is one of the fundamental and easy ways that you can understand your core business customers. The best way to know your customers is to engage with them, and today you can easily do this via various social media platforms. Try to reach out to your dream customer on the social media platform they hang out in and ask them, ‘How can I help you today?’

Collaboration and engagement with your potential customers will help you understand their problems and help you create solutions to help them.  You can build a better online business by working together with your core target audience rather than coming up with solutions in isolation.

Step # 4- Research the Possible Solutions That You Can Offer Your Customers

Once you’ve identified the problems that your customers problems, it’s time to find a solution. Every business solves a problem. The product that you will sell will be a solution to your core target customer’s problem.

At this point, you need to empathise with your customers’ challenges. In a previous blog, we highlighted the importance of empathy in growing your online business.

Empathy is an innate quality that we all have. You can empathise with your dream customers to be the best entrepreneurial parent possible because empathy will help you to stand out from the rest of the industry. You will not only have a competitive advantage over your competitors but a superior business value proposition.

If you are offering a product or service, make sure that it solves a problem for your customer. Most importantly, ensure that your product or service solves a significant problem for your customer.Your due diligence in researching the problems your core customers face and the potential product that will solve their problems will increase your confidence in navigating the online business world.

Don’t worry about what other people think about you – What’s the worst that could happen? That someone might not like what you have to say or offer? That they might give you a hard time for it? They may have the right to do so, but it doesn’t mean they are right.

You are creating content to help others and also for yourself, to reflect who you are as a parent, not for anyone else. So, if someone doesn’t like it, just let them be and do what’s best for you instead.

Focus on creating great content instead – Creating great content is more important than worrying about how many followers or views you get at first.

Step # 5- Go Ahead and Create the Solution – Just Do It Imperfectly

Many entrepreneurial parents are perfectionists who want everything to be perfect before putting it into the world. But the key to success is to get your content out as soon as possible, however imperfect it may be.

Accept that you are a lifelong learner, you will start f perfect, but you will improve over time and with regular content creation practice. The more you invest in creating content that offers solutions to your customers, the better you will become at content creation.

The best way to build your confidence is to give yourself the freedom to fail, develop a growth mindset and genuinely enjoy the process of becoming a better version of yourself.

Remember, as an entrepreneur, you control how you respond to the circumstances around you. You choose how you will react – I would encourage you to take every feedback, good or bad, and learn from it ( this is still a work in progress for me – but I am a lifelong student ).

Today, take the first step in liberating yourself and actually post those social media posts, blog postsYouTubevideos or that course that will help someone become a better version of themself. Like Nike, just do it!
